sold my first goats today

2 young bucks. It was harder than I thought it would be knowing they will be someones bbq

Yikes! That would be hard...impossible actually for me. But, lots of people do it with no problem whatsoever. I'm sure the first is probably the worst. Sorry for your loss...congratulations on your sale though!

Dixiegal congrats!!! It will get easier as time goes by. Before they left I cried & cried with my first ones.
Next season it will be a little easier. This was only my 3rd yr. I knew when those boys hit the ground they were destined to feed a family.

First time I was partly really sad and partly really proud that I was contributing to the food chain. I felt like a real farmer~!! LOL I know that seems silly but I provided food for a family, actually several families. That felt pretty good and I knew the goats were healthy and had lot of meat on them.
