Injury to teat question.

I have an oberhasli doe who has awesome teat size and oriface size and the last couple of days one side seems as if the oriface is swollen or something. Only a thin stream comes out compared to usual. I tested her for mastitis and it came back negative. I looked at her teat and it looks like there is some kind of injury. It looks kind of scabbed over about the size of the end of my pinkie finger near the tip of her teat.

Would this be effecting it and will it return to normal? What would have caused it?

thanks

A scab there would definitely affect the milkstream. She may have been stepped on by another goat, or got caught on something (brush, fence). Just keep an eye on it that it doesn't get infected. If you're practicing proper sanitation when you milk, that should take care of keeping it clean.

Once it's healed, her milk flow will be back to normal.
