Fecal testing question

I'm making my float solution with epson salt. It says to keep adding the salt until none dissolves anymore. How do you know when none is dissolving anymore? My jar is at the point now where if I add anymore salt the water will over flow.

Min,
I did mine until I had a very thin layer of salt on the bottom of the container. I would pour a little out and add some salt, then check and when you have a little salt left it is done. I did my first fecal last night!! It was a blast, but now I am doing reference checks on the pictures - you know what? alot of them look very similar.... Hum what do I really have here. LOL Have fun

uh oh...I have a very thick layer (3") of salt on the bottom. Should I pour off the water and add fresh water? Then keep doing that until it's a thin layer?

a thick layer won't hurt . the whole point is to get some water that is holding as much salt as it can. I have jar that I keep about 1/3 full of epsom salt and just add water to it when I use it. give it some good shakes and let it set till next time. if you have alot of salt in the bottom and you have been stirring/shaking for a while than its ready to go. just pour off the liquid from the top, that is your float solution.
