Getting goats tomorrow!!

I will be getting my first two goats tomorrow. They are nubian/boer cross nannies. One is in milk and the other has dryed up. I was wanting to know what you guys thought I should breed them to. I think I want to keep the does to milk and sell off the boys. Also is there anything I should give them when I get them home? Thanks for any advice!

If you want dairy, breed them to dairy.
If you want meat breed them to Boers.

Want to go the dairy route. Stated that in the post. Just wondered if we should use a nubian or another type of goat?

I'm assuming you intend to borrow a buck for your does?

You need to learn what goats are available in your area. Then, visit the farms. Watch for good animal husbandry techniques. Ask if their goats are tested for the diseases CL and CAE. (Get yours tested, too, if they haven't been already.)

You can breed to whatever dairy breed is available and that you like.

breed to the best buck you can find no matter what breed. Even if you are not interested in registered stock you should still be interested in quality.
