cydectin orally, milk withdrawl?
I didn't realize there were so many mixed reports about this drug before I had my goats dewormed with it this morning. I know there is no milk withdrawal for dairy cattle with this used as a pour on, but orally in a goat does anyone use a withdrawal time? I am drinking my goats' milk and breastfeeding my 6 month old infant. My 3 yr old also drinks the goats' milk. I have no idea how to determine a safe withdrawal time. Does anyone observe one?
In a related question, how often does this dewormer cause abortion? I think one of my doelings may have been bred when she was over at my neighbor's house. I asked the woman who was deworming if it was safe to give to a bred doe and she said it was, then I come online and find out that that may not be the case. She is a 4 1/2 month old Nigerian Dwarf cross. If she was bred it was by a Nigerian Dwarf buck.
