Our latest addition,

I finially got the goat I went to go look at when we found lil goat aka reject, shes not as tame as I would like so shes in the chicken yard until my husband gets home to weed eat around the electric fence line so she cant, well has better odds of not getting out of the pasture.
I suck at giving names, so any ideas would be great, other wise Ill probalbly call her Kibo, so save her from that (shes a boer kiko cross, same sire as lil goat)

Chicken feed is NO good for goats . It can cause bloat/ entro very fast.

cracked corn, oats and barley is the chicken feed and its also the main baisis for many feeds, including tiz wiz, so what part of it causes the bloat? They never get enough of it to make a difference and if it did then I wouldnt want to raise goats that sensitive anyway, there may have been a cup at most that got split between the three of them. They also eat horse feed and if I dont close the lid well enough , lilly will get into dog food, now that made her sick with the runs so now its in a can with a screw lid, shes a talented goat at getting what she wants.
Lilly is bad about sneaking in the house and getting a good bit of chicken feed, it so we had to put it into a trash can too. Geez i almost wish I had picky goats, they eat everything they can

Only rations made just for chickens, a COB mix is fine. Just don't let them have to much

I feed the older chickens that are not laying yet scratch grain with layer pellets mixed in, but its 20lbs to 50lbs of scratch.
As I said, theres not much consumed by the goats, they are not even in that pen normally except night and any feed is long gone by then, I was just seeing how the goats where going to do together and get them to bond, as that goat isnt going to come up to me, but rather follow them.

I think Kibo is going to fit, its different thats for sure.

If your other goat fencing is all-electric, I strongly suggest you leave this new girl in the chicken pen until she's been there for a few days, since she's not tame. Once she's figured out that this is home, she'll probably stay put, but if you put her in the electric fence too soon, and the others beat up on her because she's new (which they will do), she's likely to go right through the fence, and you may never be able to catch her.

She's pretty -- I like that color. And I like the name Kibo!

she came out of an electric fence, but I did plan on keeping her in the pen for a few days until she got used to the place, at 8 months shes the oldest and the other two only took a few moments to submit to her, there wasnt much, she just lowered her head and they went the other way.
Im not worried about ever breeding lilly, but I do hope that these two come out to be breeding quality, not that meat goats have too many standards but still want to breed for the best meat and quality.
I will retract my not picky goat statment, I didnt have any alfalfa here tonight, so I borrowed a flake from the boss lady and boy did they dig in, but get this, my other two wont eat pellets or the soften cubed, I just thought they didnt like alfalfa go figure.

They are both very pretty goats, and I just LOVE the picture of the chicken on the goat. That is so cute, now is there a spot to lay a egg?
