Calf Manna Pellets??

I have a questions about calf manna..

What is it ?? I have been hearing that from you guys talking about it.

I have small problem with my baby buckling. He is 6 or 8 weeks old. He weaned himself from not eating the milk from the bottle. It drives me crazy. He eats GREAT from hay and grain. Should I get calf manna pellets for him? Or what??? Let me know. Thanks.

Calf Manna was origionally a weaner-pellet for young calves, but many people quickly realized the potential it has for great nutrition to many other animals and ages.

I suggest you at least start a portion of calf manna into his grain diet, probably a rather high one since he's so young.

Calf Manna is a brand name -- depending on where you are, your feed stores may not carry that brand, but they probably carry some kind of calf starter pellets that are the equivalent.

I tried to give my weaned-too-early doe kid Calf Manna, but she won't eat it (it has a rather strong licorice smell, which is supposed to be attractive to animals, but obviously she doesn't think so!). She's doing fine, and momma bunny is benefiting from the Calf Manna, since Sugar won't eat it! I also have been giving half a cup or so to the doe I'm milking, since she came to me pretty thin -- she eats it, and looks a lot better than when she first got here.

Ive been mixing 1/2 mana pellets with alfalfa pellets for my little one and shes growing like a weed. they also have a milk replacer that is less expensive than most, and has raised all sorts of critters here.

i swear by calf manna--young horses shine up like greased pigs on it, and my dairy does look super! the newest one didn't care for it at first, and would pick all around those tiny pellets! but then i would just put in a few, then more, and now she eats a big handful with grain 2x per day. she is feeding twins, and they are getting huge, plus giving me 3+ pounds of milk for my table each morning. the others have been in milk for 6 and 7 months, havent' slowed down yet, and look good. its a bit spendy, but then again, you only use a few handfuls each feeding, so i think in the long run its fairly cheap. some feeds have so much junk its like potato chips--taste good, fills you up for a while, but does little for you. manna is a good choice, IMHO

i give my milkers a handful, maybe a filled measuring cup, in each feeding. they may not like at first, but i just added a few pellets at first, then a few more, now they like it plenty. i would think any animal would fill out on it, wethers, milkers, foals, the bag has pix of lots of animals, to use with most any farm animal you could have.
