Mastitis symptoms?

What are the "normal" signs of mastitis? Reason I'm asking is that two days ago, when I was doing my first couple of squirts of milk (into cup), I saw a spot of blood. Not big at all, not even as big as a pin head, but still there. I've also noticed a BIG reduction in milk production in the last four days.

We've had REALLY hot days the last week and the baby (single doeling) is feeding of the mom like crazy (fattie goatie!), so I can probably attribute the milk reduction on that, but the fact that I had the spot of blood in the strip cup makes me paranoid.

Are there any other signs that she may have mastitis? She seems pretty normal, only thing different is that since the heat, she doesn't always finish her grain on the milk stand.

Thanks!

I get that every once in a while. Just a little tiny flake of blood. I even once got a very small milky clot thing with a little blood attached. It was just that once, though, so I think she probably got bumped or something.

From what I've read, a doe with mastitis is sick. As in, fever, acting funny, not eating sick. If you're worried, you can get the California Mastitis Test at a lot of farm supply stores...
