best practices for Wisconsin dairy goat producers

I don't raise goats so seldom view this section of HT. But I thought I'd provide this information to those that have an interest in goats:

A new manual outlining best practices for Wisconsin dairy goat producers is now available online, according to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture. The publication, 'Dairy Goat Management: Best Management Practices,' was written and compiled by Wisconsin goat producer Clara Hedrich of Chilton, in consultation with long-time producer, Dan Considine and with assistance from Dr. Chris Duemler, DVM from Brodhead.

The 166 page manual includes management practices for breeding to improve production; milking protocols; vaccination and other herd health programs; kid raising; facilities and equipment needs for producers.

Visit the Wisconsin Dairy Goat Website www.wdga.org to view or print a copy of the manual. The Website will also announce when the manual will be available in print. It will be sold at cost.
