Cool color changing goat

Just wondering how common this is, and if she may change back...

4 month old nigerian dwarf goat, buckskin. This past couple weeks her coat is coming in....Sundgau??? I'll post before and afters. She gets darker everyday. I know the agouti gene is not real predictable, anyon else go from a tan goat to a black one?

You can see though in the first pic that under that brown it looks very black. My buck did this he was very light tan and black has grown in in some areas.

I had a buck that was all brown with some white get in quite a bit of black on his coat at about 8 months of age. I also have a mini nub looks like she is getting a black blanket, just over a year old. My white bottle baby is now a blonde, 3 months old. So no, color change from kids to adult isn't too uncommon, but not every goat will have it.

I have never had this happen to me! How interesting, just one more reason why you can't predict a nd's color.

One of my lamancha does has tan shoulders and white on back. She started to get tiny tan spots, we call them freckles, in the white of her back and sides. This when she was about 16 months! Now, I have heard of kids color changing, or the goat looks a totally different color when shaved, but this was an odd one for me.

It looks like she just lost her "winter type coat". I have a buck that was pretty dark like the Buckskin, now he is really lite.

Not at all unusual to change colors.
