I'm not sure if I remember; is she a first freshener for you?
I've heard that, the length of lactation of a first freshener affects subsequent lactations. That is, if she was allowed to dry off after only four months her first freshening, that will be the length of her lactation for all subsequent freshenings. I don't know how true this is, and don't know if you have a milking history on her.
Maybe someone who knows better will jump in here and correct me if I'm wrong.
By the way, it's very warm here, and I've noticed a drop in production this morning with all four of my girls.
