Smile Dehorned horn growing back!

My doe lost her horn in a fence and it is growing back. My question is does this often happen for people who want their kids dehorned and have it done? Can their horns just grow back like that? Also since only one ripped off will it grow to the size of the other one? I love horned goats but would prefer both horns to be the same size.

I wouldnt think it would be the same size. It might be a little deformed. I guess it all depends on the amount of damage to the place on the skull that grows the horn, right?

How old was she when she lost her horn in the fence?

I went into the baby yard (as we call it, it is the weaning pin). we noticed her holding her head funny so we were checking her out and realized that one of her horns was about off. She had no blood but it was not attached in the front of her head. I took her to the vet to have the horn (outer part) removed. They did that and now three years later they are almost the exact same size. The one that was removed has a little nub on the end, there then that you would never know which one was off. It did not take that long for it to catch up, maybe 6-8 months.

Yep, it will grow back. I believe this one of mine was at least 12-14 weeks.

That's exciting I was a little sad about how goofy she now looked. She is still cute just you know 2 horns certianly look much nicer. She is a very pretty doeling. So when that horn grows back she will be an extra cutie again. She is my favorite goat! Spoiled to death!
