Trying to make lemonade!

Well, I've been off board for a few weeks because of computer problems. Just thought I'd vent a little, and try to make some lemonade out of the whole situation. First, about two weeks ago a boer cross doe that was due to kid around June 1 gave birth two twin DOES, but they were 15 days premie. We did everything we knew to do for them, but we ended up losing both of them. Next, this past early Friday morning, a first freshener Nubian doe I had kidded with a single buck kid. This doe has always been just a little high strung. I was worried about her first kidding anyway, since she is a little eccentric. Well, she did just what I feared; she rejected the kid. She would have nothing to do with it, wouldn't let it nurse, and would kick it if it got around her. Thank God, the doe that lost the two females adopted it, and he thinks that is his mom now. I may have to send the wild doe to the glue factory. Well, I got up this morning, and right before church one of our other does popped out two beautiful kids. The only thing wrong with them is they are both BUCKS. I have one more doe to kid and I know she is only carrying one. If she kids with a buck I don't know what I'll do. I was so hoping for some does, which we did get, but they were just simply unable to pull through.

I'll quit venting now and will sitback with a self loathsome glass of lemoade!

Wow, the loss of the doelings HURTS. I'm sorry.

Are you trying to milk the Nubian doe? If you work with her, I'll bet she'll settle into a milking routine within a week or two. May as well get some milk out of the deal.

Hoping your last doe kids out with TWIN DOELINGS.

Hang in there.

She is a non-milker, so I think she's going too. She has always let her kids nurse, but is a real PITB and WILL NOT let you milk her. This time, she's actually fighting the kids nursing, which she has never done before. Yeah, let's pray for twin doelings out of my last one to kid. Of course, one doeling would be better than what I have right now.
