Newbie and scotch broom

Hi all,
I'm new to posting. I've been lurking for some time and have learned so much from you all. My hubby and I just bought 12 acres with the idea of raising our own food. I planned on getting a couple of goats for dairy and meat. I've always been partial to Nubians, mostly because of looks (love those floppy ears!). Anyway, our acreage is covered in scotch broom. Is it okay for goats to eat scotch broom? Will they eat it? It would certainly be wonderful if they could and would. Thanks in advance for all your help. I look forward to posting in the future. I have a lot to learn!

Here's a link to a list of poisonous and non-poisonous plants. I didn't see Scotch Broom on it.

http://fiascofarm.com/goats/poisonousplants.htm

Some of the plants are on both lists, so be cautious.

HI! I don't even know what Scotch Broom is! But I wanted to welcome you to the board Also, even if they are supposed to eat a certain plant sometimes they don't. From my experience (very little) goats usually do the opposite of what you want...but they sure are fun & full of personality!

I think DocM mentioned a while back that her goats eat a lot of scotch broom; that being said, I've also heard it has toxic properties.
