Some of my favorite buck names are Tucker, Finley, Bixby, Porter or Murphy. But sometimes it depends on what they look or act like too. I tend to go with people names most of the time but not always.

I ran out of ideas so I started going with bible names. I have Samson and Delilah, Abraham, Solomon and Gabriel. LOL
Thats just the purebreds...The percentage doelings are all flowers, Pansy,Violet, Buttercup.
Just pick a favorite book or movie...and name him after the leading man..Cruise would be a good name for a buck

Depending on the personality--Maverick, Samson, Finnagin, Shiloh, Rocky
Some manly place names--Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Rio-Grande, El Capitan, McKinley
Some funny names--"beards"ley, "Ram"bo, "Buck"ley, "Buck"shot, "Doe"boy, "Doe"master
I know some are kinda dorky, but it gives you something to work with. Do you have a theme you go by when naming babies? If you do,what are the parents names? Let us know what you decide.

I'm a big fan of ridiculously obvious names. Like Billy for a goat, Peter for a rabbit, Tom for a male cat, etc. They make me giggle every time I use one.

Our ram (a border leicester) is Lester. Lester the border leicester. (giggle)

My kids and I usually put a name to them that has significance, such as kids born on a turbulent weather day this month were: Windy, Cloudy, Breezy, Haley (as in hail, lol), Sunny, etc. Two new kids yesterday as yet unnamed, but Dusty looks good for one of them.

The does tend to have cutesy names: Tinkerbell, Bambi, Beauty, Gracie, Izzie (Isabel), and Angel.

The boys here are Rusty, BillyBob, and Willy Wonka (hehehe, yep, he's a chocolate buck, the kids had just seen the movie).

What does your goat look like, or do they have any quirks, that might give you some ideas!

Since your new herd name is Legend Hills, that is right,eh? I'd give the bucks name with big impact like Hero, Horatio, El Capitan, Zoro, Don Juan, etc. You know names with a legend behind them.

Wow! Thank you all. Now I have the opposit problem. LOL Too many to choose from. LOL

Thank you so much. Here are the boys. Yes, they are horned. Just picked them up that way. Will be selling one, don't know which one yet. One has absolutely beautiful coloring. The other is the sweetest and loves to come and say hello.

You may already know this, but your belted buckling is actually known as a "broken chamoisee" with a belt.

Thank you CrazyGoatGal. So he would be a broken, belted Chamoise? I thought so. Thanks!

(By the way Chamoise is the spelling for males. Chamoisee for females.) You probably already knew this. I am posting that little bit for the benefit of others. This is an Alpine breed color.

99% of the time I try to follow the type of names the dam or sire had.

I found the name for one of them....CODY for the chamoise. He is the sweeter one. I am thinking about CHARLIE for the spunkier belted one.

Not sure yet though about Charlie's name. Might call him Rusty. ??? I am still debating. Keep your ideas and thought on him coming. Thanks!

I like those names, Cody and Charlie. Is Cassidy a male name? And actually I didn't know there was a difference inthe spelling. Thanks. When you register him you would describe him as a" broken chamoise with a white belt."
