Tiny Little "scooter"

This little guy was born yesterday at 5:30 in the evening, along with his sisters...that are 4 times bigger than he is. mama was wanting all three of the kids, but little scooter just wasn't up to eating or walking...so i brought him home with some of mama's milk and weighed him, he only weighs 1LB 6 oz, this is the smallest boer kid i've ever seen...the other two girls are just perfect, same size and everythingone is 5.5 and the other is 5.9. usually when we have trips they are all around the same size, we even had a girl have quads and they were small but not as small as scooter. Has anyone here had one this small? he only stands a whopping 9'' tall. he's getting colstrum and he pooped finally this morning, and he pees normal...he's just tiny, our chihuahua is even bigger than he is...I was wondering if anyone else has had a boer kid this small before, and if so..did they live?
here is little scooter

i had a Percentage Boer doe come to us already bred, she had triplets, one was HUGE one was medium and one was TINY TINY just like this one, the huge one was the last to come out and she had difficulty and we had to pull the kid, she wasnt feeling up to dealing with three kids after her ordeal and abandoned them all, the tiny one was so small his insides werent working right, if your kid is takeing milk and processing it out then you should be fine,

Somebody, either here or on a goat forum (yahoogroups) mentioned one time that they'd had a 12 oz.er that survived and did just fine. Sometimes one kid just doesn't get it's share of nutrients in utero -- hopefully he'll make up for lost time now!

We had a 2# nubian kid once, she lived on our kitchen counter for the first few days, did walk around much, just slept mostly. She did just fine, never had any problems, was on the small side though. I sold her at 4 months, she was about the same size as most my 2 - 3 month olds.

I tell ya what you guys, he's doing better than any bottle baby i've ever had! when I call to him, or he's hungry, he sounds even smaller! I do hope he makes it...if left alone he'd proably sleep all the time, but i make him work for his bottle, he's active, but just not like he should be, but he's going great so far, we took a nap together just a bit ago LOL

you know i think he was the first one out cause he was totally cleaned off, then his other sister which is normal boer kid size, then the other sister which doesn't weigh much more, but looks bigger. I got there when she was cleaning the second one off.
boy at first i bet she thought "man this is gonna be easy"LOL then out pop the other two LOL
well I gotta feed the little man, I'll keep ya guys posted!!

What a precious little one! Glad to hear that he's doing okay, so far. Sounds like you're giving him the TLC he needs to give him the will to grow strong.

If he is eatting and keeping his body temp he should live. Remember he will always be smaller then the rest. Good Luck.

I had a nd buckling born last year(yes, I know they are already smaller than boars) that was less than a pound and had a weak sucking reflex, so I pulled him and left his sister on the mama. His sister was 6 pounds! BIG DIFFERENCE! Both are doing well a year later and he is bigger than the babies born around the same time and the sister is less than average in height. Go figure.

Hey, I was wondering about how much to feed him since he is so tiny, I have been feeding him 2 Oz 5 times a day for a total of ten ounces.
And also he kinda has a rattle sound in his lungs when he first gets up, and for a little after he drinks, then it goes away. do ya'll think he might have aspiration phneumonia, or some sort of other upper resp. infection? it's not bad sounding, just when he first gets up from a nap and a little bit after he drinks...he's still bright eyed and bushy tailed, so far so good...just worried a bit about the rattle sounds...any suggestions?
