Question Incontinent doe?

A couple of days ago, I noticed a drop of moisture on the milkstand after I'd finished milking. I just though "Huh! I don't remember splashing milk" and thought no more about it. Yesterday, I was milking Polly and saw a couple of drops of urine drip down. Again, kind of "huh, that's odd".

This morning, there was quite a little "splash" of urine while I was milking and another as she was getting down off the milkstand. She's a five-year old Saanen, kidded last July. Her milk yield is normal, her appetite is good, her activity level is normal. She gets (along with the rest of the herd) 2nd cut alfalfa and 1st cut grass hay, as well as several hours on pasture every day (they've been out on it since April, so nothing new there). On the milkstand, she gets 14% goat dairy ration mixed with alfalfa pellets and oats.

Any thoughts?

Bump.

Anybody?

I forgot to mention - she did not squat as soon as she got back in the pen, so it wasn't that she had to go and couldn't hold it.

I was also wondering if she could have a bladder infection. That was my first thought. I have no idea though. Never even heard of this before. ???

It was my first thought too, but any other animal I've had with bladder problems has been squatting everywhere. They feel the urge to go, not just dribbling.

Anyway, it didn't happen this morning. I'll keep watching her but if it doesn't happen again, I'll just have to chalk it up to "goats is weird!"
