How long for nursing urge to stop

We are weaning our older doelings (over three months old) by having them in a separate area. It's going fine, and it's really not a problem, but I'd like to know how long to keep them apart.

When I had cattle, we had some calves that took MONTHS to stop wanting to suck.

Please tell me it won't take this long.

Good question - I have one yearling that still tries to nurse every chance she gets.

I also have a wether that is over a year old that tries to nurse Mom. And she stand there and lets him! He has to lay on his belly to get to it,(she is a Pygmy), but he sure manages to do it.
