milk production going up at 4 months pp?

our togg/saanen doe has really boosted her milk production all of a sudden - 4 months after kidding! Added about 1.5-2 lbs a day for the last 10 days.

Anyone else see production levels go up this long after kidding? She has not reached her 6 week level of 9.5 lbs/day - but she went from a pretty consisten 6 lbs a day up to 7.5-8 lbs a day.

The only change has been fabulous live pasture to graze and nummy hillsides to browse. Could fresh quality green food make this difference this far out?

thanks
Cathy

I always see a jump when the green comes. Even with feeding alfalfa pellets and hay they will get out and browse. Especially on multiflower rose leaves etc... If I remember right I read that browse can be up to 21% protein depending on what it is.
