new boer goat

We got two boers last year that still struggle to walk for me in a "fair" like fashion.

We just got a new kid two weeks ago. My daughter has a collar and a leash and they go everywhere.

For a fair animal, at what age do you want to train it for collar only and get it used to walking like they will when the kids go to fair in late summer.

Any suggestions on the stubborn adults is appreciated. We have one doe that my daughter wants to walk in the fair ring and I fear that she'll be fighting her during the time to shine.

Thanks in advance.

I put the collar on my wether when he was about three weeks old I think. Started leading him then.

I have a stubborn yearling doe I just bought like two days ago. Suggestion for me was, put a small tasty treat a little ways in front of them. Lead them to it. Put it farther away and lead them to it again. Then farther away and so on. Have not tried it yet because it rained today and I am currently feeling my fibromyalgia. Ugh. It sounds like it will work.
