OT : Gas Prices

We just topped $4.03 at the corner gas station yesterday. This is central NewYork (the wilderness part). How are prices in your neck of the woods?

Around $3.80. Every time I go into town it's at least 5¢ higher than it ws the previous time. Absolute madness.

When we bought this place (15-20 miles from town) three years ago, we had no idea gas prices would get this bad. And they're only going to get worse. I'd like to get a nice fuel-efficient vehicle, but can't think of one that can carry 6 people...

As of yesterday evening $3.79.

What's scary is the sign guy now has a chair next to the sign so he can sit there and make changes quicker.

How about a very big horse? LOL I have to make light of these prices... If not laughing, I'd be crying. Hope you find something soon.

I saw $3.55 on Monday. At the same station on Wednesday, it was $3.65.

Also saw $3.79 down the road.

The station that I saw $4.03 at yesterday was $3.99 in the morning. I wonder what it is today.

One of our local stations switched to a LED/digital (whatever it's called) sign, so they don't even have to go outside to change it. Is that a bad omen?

In South Georgia it's $3.87. Did ya'll catch the OIL COMPANY execs yesterday with Congress? What conceited aswalers sitting on their crystal white pedestals. What would happen if the Gov. goes ahead and taxes $1.00 per gallon? Do it before the companies can raise it another cent. At least the $$ would go into the coffers of wasteful gov spending instead of lining the pockets of the billionaires.....

The oil companies have already siphoned off vacations, little extras, weekly out-to-eats and quality of life. When we can't buy feed for our animals, what will we do? We are already searching for alternative foods, but certain minerals, salts and proteins will have to be bought and medical treatments administered. I am worried.

Paul

Oil companies make a profit of about 30-40¢ per gallon... not really that much when you think about it. They have huge profits because they sell huge amounts of oil! 31 billion barrels last year, if I remember correctly.

What are the prices like in your areas? I was thinking ours are the most expensive up here at $4.03 yesterday but am very curious to see what it is like across the country...and maybe even beyond.

The biggest cost increase is because Congress will not allow new drilling nor refineries hardly anywhere in this country. It will only get worse.
