Thanks. Momma is doing great. She did something none of our goats has done before. She dug a small hole in the base of a 1 ton round bale and stuffed the baby in it while she went out browsing.

She is a very proud mama indeed! Do I see s**w on the ground? At this time of year in Vermont we do not even say the word for fear it will happen. April was late enough for me. Please forgive my ignorance, but what kind of goat is she? I just love the coloring of her baby and I swear that mother is smiling!!!

Yup, that's the High Rockies for you, 1.5 inches last night. The Momma is a Saanen, Nubian X. The buck was a Toggenburg.

LOL, crazygoatgal, I was thinking the same thing you were...is that frozen precipitation I spy?

Prometheus, they're both as cute as they could be! Congrats!

So this is a new one on me. We usually let our kids run the range with their mommas, this momma however keeps coming home without her kid. Two separate nights out on her own. We are keeping the whole herd penned for a couple of days hoping this will help. Anyone else with a similar experience?

Really cute kid & sweet looking momma too! I was going to ask about the S word too but BethW & crazygoatgal beat me! You poor thing to have snow this late, planted my garden last weekend & A freeze Tuesday killed almost all of it! That's not usual this time of year even in Michigan!
Congratulations on the new arrival!
