quick question

I have let my girls + their kids out of their pen for the day to munch on stuff (they have eatten a lot of there own), And I was wondering if I could let my bucks out also? I thought they can not breed unless someone was in heat? My parents thought that their is always a chance.
Just wanted to know if it is safe to let the boys out.

Thanks Marisa
ps: they are dairy goats and have not been in heat for a few months

How about letting the bucks out in the late afternoon, after the does and kids have been put up?

Not controlling your bucks is a sure fire way to have young does kidding before they are ready and having no clue as to who bred whom in your older goats. Bucks will compete for breeding of the does, there will be alot of fighting between them and the herd queen. Lots of dairy goat breeders bully young yearlings right now for fall kids and milk without using hormones etc.. so if you want your does bred, put the bucks in with them, the buck effect will bring them into heat, especially if they are lamancha or nubian.
