Casebac is on indefinite backorder - I ordered some through my vet, and no idea when we're going to see it. Jeffer's says the same.

There used to be a company in Canada that made it - Glanvac - but they no longer do.

Try western ranch supply, I had a friend order some the other day, I will check and see if they are on backorder or not.
No, it is not approved for goats.
How is vaccinating for something sweeping something under the rug?

if a doe is vaccinated despite her beeing positive for this disease, will mask the true status of her, if she gets tested from future buyer. of course the breeder can say all goats are vaccinated and not tell the actual status of the herd.
to treat animals with abscess, like it is promoted on chevon talk just make me sick to my stomach.

but of course this is only an opinion from a dairy goat breeder

Well, yes, they can but how many people on here have purchased goat they have been told were clean and they weren't? Sounds like a dairy problem too.
Austrailia is cl free now due to vaccinating animals for it, wouldn't it be nice to say that about our country. There are vaccines available, so I use them.
Most tests now can tell if it is a positive from a vaccine or from cl itself.

I DO KNOW THAT. Maybe I am thinking of CAE then. One of them will kill a goat if you give it.

wow! I didn't know that about australia. I guess that is what can happen when people "manage" a disease instead of promoting paranoia.

The status of tested animals are perhaps CL negative. It's like england promoting their herds are CAE free....the tested herds for showing are negative because they demand CAE free goats only show. This does not make england CAE free. I find it pretty hard to swallow that Austrailia or any other sheep rich country has done away with cornybacterium. Sounds good though. Vicki

See if you can find out what it is! It would be good to know.

The vet clinic is fully aware that I want the Casebac for goats. I was even talking about it to one vet last week, when he was here to geld a colt. I'm sure if there was a safety issue, they would have mentioned it - at least, I certainly hope so.

I don't recall the name of the company, but they were bought by Pfizer. Glanvac is still made, though. I'll hit the phone, but when I called around before (about a year ago? maybe longer), I found a BC feed/farm supply that stocked it.
