Quick DE question

It took me forever to find some one that even knew what I was talking about, and then they say its animal grade but nothing about food grade and i just want to make sure Im getting something safe.
They are proud of it too, quite a bit more expensive than I thought

I got a 50 Lb bag off E-bay and paid about $1 a lb including shipping & was happy with that because I could not find it locally and most supply places I found on the net were asking much much more so if someone could enlighten me as to a cheaper place I would love to know
Also if it says CODEX that means it is food grade

We pay $28 for 50#s from our feed store. They order it for us, ours is actually called Red Lake Earth which it says on the bag, and then in fine print is says food grade DE.

I'm not sure, but I would think animal grade would be ok. Are they eating it, or are you just dusting with it?

I just gave $8 for a pound and a half! I hate to do it but IM going to use it on my goats and chicks but everything else might have to go through the chemical way unless I can get it cheaper.

I would love to know how much it is in the Mcdonough

If you have a co-op type business near you, they will order it. It seems expensive, but it will last awhile, depending on how many animals you're using it on. I have 11 goats and I've been on the same bag for a year now, and I've even given a couple of baggies full to friends that wanted to try it.
