taste of milk changing/getting stronger - why?

The milk from my one milking doe, a togg/saanen mix, has gotten noticeably stronger tasting in the last 2 weeks. Why?

I've checked for mastitis, negative. I've cleaned my dairy equipment and bottles with dairy soap and milk stone remover. Taking care to get the milk filtered and chilled quickly. No difference.

Could it be just due to having feed change from hay to green grass? that's the last reason I can think of.

ty!

That's probably it, since it sounds like everything else has been checked. Changes in feed do affect the flavor of the milk. You might try putting them back on hay for a few days and see if it makes a difference.

The change to green forage will definitely make a difference. The flavor should improve after their digestion adjusts to the change in diet.

Maybe your area is warming up temp wise, so getting the milk quick chilled is paramount, no delays, that's the key to sweet tasting milk year round....Plus what Rose said...TJ

Have you trimmed their hooves lately? I have found when it is past time to trim it effects the milk flavor.
