Goat Fencing for 2 acres

What is the least expensive way to fence in two acres for goats? One long side is in the trees.....

Thanks,
Jesus does love you!

Electric fencing is usually the cheapest option. Field fence may be more secure, and probably the BEST would be a combination of the two.

If you have any concerns about predators (i.e. the neighbors dogs) going after the goats then field fence would be your best bet. It won't keep a determined dog out, but it will act as a deterrent.

Thanks..

Thank you for your responses. I think I will need to do field fence, considering dogs.

Im doing 5 strand electric fence around my 5 acers using the step in post, it looks pretty good to be so cheap when its done. One of my friends that has 40 some odd goats on 50+ acers usese the same set up and shes in woods like I am and has never lost a goat, or had one get loose, dont know how much the donkey has to do with it, but hes only in with the boys to be sold lot, does and kids are not with him.
The step in post are $2 each at TSC and the wire will cost you about $50, charger for 2 aceres is $22 the ground rod, is $14 for a general break down, you can visit their site for a fence calculator.

this is also keeping my dogs in, I have 3 great danes, a shepherd mix and 3 small dogs. Not ideal for horses if they dont respect it. When doing the fence the 5 strand is very important because it keeps them from putting their horns through if you have that issue and heads, however its something you have to walk or use an atv to check on at least once a week to make sure nothing is touching it, it is ideal to use a mild vegitation killer at least 2 inches on each side of the wire to keep any grounding or temptaions at bay.
