Question Pygmy, meat, and fiber goat showmanship

I only know about dairy showmanship. So, could somebody please tell me about showmanship of these other kinds of goats?

What should you wear? I know Pygmy showmen wear white tops and dark pants, but are they jeans or black pants? Any belts? What do meat and fiber goat exhibitors wear?

Clipping and shaving? Pygmys and fiber goats are not clipped, right? At all? Meat goats, I know are clipped, but I heard you leave some parts longer? Do you clip inside the ears?

Showmanship techniques? Which way do you enter the ring? (clockwise or counter clockwise?) When the judge lines you up, do you walk in front of the other goats or behind them? And if your goat fidgets and you back out of line to re-set-up the goat, how do you do that? Figure 8? What?

Thanks!!!

black pants, light shirt for meat goats. clip - you can do a bit of 'cosmetic' work and leave areas longer to cover up deficiencies, etc...

best to just get behind someone - goats in general will follow the one in front of them ;-)

other stuff not too different from dairy!

Good luck!

Now for me, when I showed my Boers (not professional, mind you, just fair and fun) We did not clip other then scissor trimming around top of hoofs and cleaning up here and there some hair sticking out and squaring tail.

I found after washing them, I sprayed down with horse Show Sheen and it kept them clean and shiney all day long. Don't forget to clean the waxy buildup under their tails.

Also, they should be shown like lambs by holding their heads, not collar. Again, at the fair people did both but I had asked the judge what he liked beforehand but he gave leaway because it wasn't an officially rated show.

Hum... was I any help?
