What makes him worthy, other than color? Black is pretty, yes, but it should be growth rate, conformation, and production that determines your buck, not color. You always want the BEST buck possible, because he's 1/2 your herd. You could just as easily take your best two does and get them serviced at another farm by a blackheaded or solid black buck with an excellent show record, pedigree, ennoblements etc and introduce the color into your herd that way, all the while IMPROVING your herd.

He is very pretty, but his back could be straighter, dont you think? Maybe it's the way he's standing, though......

I think it's the way he's standing, they both have good straight backs, and are very heavy the almost all black head weighs 39lbs and jack weighs 40lbs I wormed and weighed all the kids about a week ago, all the little bucks weigh about the same. twins or singles, they all are growing fast!

Thanks! I'd love to keep them all, especially the doelings, but i had enough of the FF this year, i had 12, and i got up every 2 hours to check them, and i thought they'd never pop, but they all had them with in 2 days, it was a night mare!! mom and I were all over the place helping the girls, and kids, the second day we had 5 girls start at the same time, and they all had them around about the same time. we never got a break those two days, not one break LOL but i can't complain, all the FF loved and cared for their kids!
Yeah I'll proably keep a few of the best doelings LOL

I like the black and white one. It's hard to tell from the side view..but, I like meat goats and he appears to have a fairly wide chest and I really like his butt. How old is he?
Best of luck.

First off... man what a beautiful field!!
I like the little black headed buckling IF his back really is straight and it's just how he's standing. He seems very nicely muslced and thick... now, I'd also take into consider the lines he comes from (production, mothering ability etc) also is he a twin, a trip, or a single? If he's a single I'd consider that as a minus.
All your kids are REALLY lovely. Like a poster said above, make sure the color is not the only thing you're really looking at. Look at the whole package, and make your decision. Maybe if you are still a little on the fence but like him, keep him and test him on a few choice does and see what comes of it... there's always dinner if it doesn't work out. One of the nice things about meat goats. LOL

Sher and Countryhaven: they both are only 2 months old, and the black and white headed one (jack) he was a single, from a FF(but she was a trip), and the all black head was a trip, the coyotes or feral dogs got the other two, and they all looked the same!
they both have gained weight very quickly, they are the biggest of all the bucks, even the singles

I like the second one with the white face better. Looks like more musle and less leg.
