Now it's my turn for a nasty neighbor...

I have almost 4 acres out in the country. My neighbor, Nick moved in about 4 years ago. Well, all this good grass is going to waste so I staked out my goats down near my property edge(right behind his house). Whenever I have my goats out I sit outside and watch them to make sure nothing comes onto the property to harm them and make sure they don't get tangled up. Well, sure enough Nick comes home, his little dog jumps out and comes onto my property to check out the goat.. not a threat... but I yelled at the dog which didn't help so I yelled down to Nick to get his dog off my property. He then complained about my goats being there, and I told him they need to eat and he then went and put his dog away, then went back to his truck, looked liked he pulled out a gun (don't know if it was or not becuase there is quite a distance between us), and he took a stanse, took aim and imaginarily shot my goat. I called the cops and wrote down date, time, what was said between us and the officers I talked to. I was the last neighbor here that he has picked a fight with becuase we have chosen to ignore his stupid drama, but mess with my kids or my animals... well lets say that I am putting in a buck pen down there that is going to have cameras on it so he can't mess with them....

Good grief! Good thing you have it on record just in case thing escalate. I am blessed to have good neighbors at the moment. They both like my critters and are eagerly looking forward to our first kidding in a few weeks. However, one property (the closest to the goats) is up for sale - just hope however buys it turns out to be a nice neighbor too.

I would just get the word out that if something happened to my goats I would be going into the hog bussiness....with a camera on each pig

You're doing the right thing by filing a report and documenting the events - since SSS is out of the question. I can't for the life of me, imagine why people have to be that way. That can be so stressfull.
Do you have a video camera?

I wish I had a video camera but I don't. Before I put any of my animals down there unsupervised I will, however have an infrered motion sensored security camera. I've had people steal my white peafowl, so just a little adjusting on the site should protect my goats as well. I know it will be an initial expense, but I will not let him ruin my rural life style here. There has been a lot of drama that Nick has with other neighbors that I don't need to get into and I guess I knew my turn was coming... All of my other neighbors are great... They keep to themselves but as they say, good fences make good neighbors... well, now I need that fence. lol (BTW, SSS has probably gone through my hubby's mind. lol)
