my poor doe...

because of the slaughtering of the buck I didn't get my milker doe back until last night. I got her out to milk her this morning and that's when I discovered I learned two things... 1) She allowed her kid (3 months old and weaned a month ago) to nurse off of her, and now she has bites all over her teats. 2) she now has scratches on her udder from walking through the brush in the back field she was put in every day. I massaged bag balm into her udder. The poor thing was so sore she didn't eat a thing while I was milking her. I had my mom come out and pet her and talk to her while I milked her out...

Oh that is sad...I hope she feels better soon. It sounds like you are taking good care of her.
