I have no idea how far along this goat is

and I cant find the paper I wrote the day I bought her on. I know I got her in Nov or Dec just not the exact date, anyway she had a small bag when I got her, they had no idea if she was expecting well shes huge now so Im pretty sure she is. Her utter is very big and I have noticed she looks swelled under her tail so I figured she must be getting close.

She follows me around the place as I feed and water to get her outside a bit and 2 weeks ago she ran past me into the goat pen and got butted very hard 3 times in the side before I could get a hold on her and get her back out, I noticed after that she had a bit of bloody show I didnt notice if it was there before she got butted. I watched her all day and she seemed ok.

Well we still have no babies and Im starting to worry. I have to leave for Texas this coming Thursday or Friday and will be gone a week. My sister will be staying here and taking care of everything but has even less knowledge than I do so Im wondering what in your opinion are the chances that those hard butts to the side could cause problems during birth?

If she hasn't been with a buck since December, you would possibly have a May due date. If she aborted, you would see something unless you have a dog in the yard or some other wildlife could have gotten to the fetuses and eaten them. I had a doe abort 6 weeks early and they were definitely big, around 2 lbs each.

If her udder is still soft and squishy, she's not going to have them today. The two biggest signs for imminent kidding is a suddenly huge, harder (full) udder and loss of ligaments. Check her ligs at least 2x per day. Leave your sister your good goat vet's number, and an emergency goat contact number. Make sure she can handle a goat in labor - she might have to go invasive, take her to a vet, etc.

My does were exposed to a buck from Dec. 1 onward .So I expect my girls to start kidding anytime from April 28 and later. if your doe was breed before you brought her home it sounds like you may have kids anytime soon.Keep a close eye,I hope everything goes well.
Ann.
