stillborn

Well Saturday was a sad day. One of the three Saanen first fresheners we got to start our herd aborted 1 1/2 months early. She didn't seem to have any problems though she was a little poorer than the other two. She is giving a little milk. Guess we'll have to wait until the fall and try again with her.

that is always so sad, and worrisome. I had one goat who aborted twice in one year and never could determine the cause. I hope your Saanen does well next time.

What a shame! I'm very sorry to hear about that. Will you get the fetus tested to see why? If the doe has some sort of infection, it would be good to get that cleared up before you breed her again.

I hope the next two does do better for you.
