lets talk lutalyse

Ok I know some breeders lute their Does to clyce and be bred to kid when they need them to kid.

My question is.

How effective is this to bring them into heat? I did read the Doe has to be at least 11 days past a heat cycle or it will not Work is that correct?

How long after you Lute them will they come into heat?

For those who use this method are the heats full strong cylces as to where they usually take?

The reason why I would like to educate myself on this, is becasue I would really like most of my Does to kid over my Daughters spring break, next spring and so I would need to breed them Nov. 11-14th and I need to know when I would lute them to cylce those days, and how effective this method works.
Thanks in advance for the info.

Hmm, well we are new users of Lute, so I can't help too much, but I do know they will come into heat 24 - 48 hours after the injection, and that you should use the 2 mL dosage for best results.

It's about 50 50. I have used it for years. Mostly for having does kid when I am here, or before shows. When I have used it for bringing does into heat, it works well for the heat, but the thing with lute is it has nothing to do with ovulation. And a doe who doesn't ovulate along with the heat and breeding won't kid

CIDR's work 100%...well they do when you know everything about them...like that you can only reuse them twice and not 3 times...I got to prove this to everyone new to CIDR's by reusing CIDR's on 6 does for the 3rd time, it not only didn't cycle them it supressed the cycle and they have kidded and are now kidding the next heat cycle. Not a good thing when it's your best and oldest does.

CIDR's are nothing more than a plastic intravaginal (think tampon) device that costs about 5$. They are illegal in the US so contact me privately for ways of getting them. They are not the cow ones you can find on websites (qcsupply.com) etc. The plastic is bathed in progesterone. Then in Jeffers is a drug PG600 this is a pig drug that causes ovulation. We have the whole protocoal on goatkeeping 101 written by our reproduction pro Kaye on diarygoatinfo.com I use it for sync breedings of the whole herd in a 5 day period, for hard to breed does, and it has taken AI to a whole nother level, up into the high 90% range which is unheard of in goats.

So having something better to use than lute is super cool after lutelyse being really the only thing we could use for years and it really not working anymore than the buck effect...just put the buck in the pen about 3 days before you want your first kidding in 5 months...keeping the does out of smell and site of him before this.
