weaning and feeding

OK - so I am starting to wean my wethers. What should I feed them regularly from here on out? They are both over two months but one is closer to 3 months than the other. We plan to drop the middle feeding this weekend.

Right now they have been eating oats mixed with alfalfa hay (that was all we could find at the time) and doing a little grazing, but evidently they do not likemuch of what is growing in their yard as it is still getting a little overgrown with some of the grasses. We will be tethering them inother areas when we can be right there with them, but they will definitely need some other feed too, especially considering the way they cry for their bottles.

Once I've weaned, all I feed my buck is grass hay and water. And he is doing great. Some people like to give them minerals though.

I wean to 2x a day bottle feedings at 3 weeks. To 1x a day at 6 weeks. Totally off the bottle by 8-9 weeks.

Meanwhile, they get fed a grain mix 2x a day, water, minerals, and all the hay they can eat. They thrive!

What breed are these? I think some breeds just grow a lot faster and better than others.
