Triplet Bucklings this morning

Ebony, one of our Boer cross does gave birth to triplet bucklings this morning. We bred for April in the hopes of decent weather, so of course we had snow flurries all weekend. We penned her up in the barn Saturday night so everyone was warm and dry this morning.

Our doe:buck numbers aren't looking too good this year. 9 bucklings and 4 doelings so far. Thats because we bought a registered buck and were going to start selling our girls as breeding stock.

Murphy's law; we wanted bucklings for meat and we got tons of does last year. This year we averaged out at:
quads-3 bucks 1 doe
trips- 3 bucks
twins- 2 does
twins- 1 buck 1 doe
trips- 2 bucks 1 doe

So our total this year was: 9 bucks and 5 does. Plus I traded one of my bucklings from last year for money plus two wethers for meat. We sold two wethers, traded a buckling, and will keep two for breeding. That leaves about 6 animals for meat. So my freezer is looking full this year. We won't be buying much meat.

Ahhh, bucklings! What is it with the goats this year? Mine had 2 bucklings yesterday!

Congrats, though! They are all big and strong?

lol isn't that always the way it goes, you want one thing, and get another. I was hopeing for several wethers to sell this year, out of 9 kids so far, we got one buckling to wether, hahahahha. Well, I still have a couple more does to go, it's late for the 4-h market though, go figure, watch all those girls will have bucks.
