Unhappy Doeling with tetanus

I am wondering what I can/should do for her. She is a 5 week old Boer cross, I have been giving her Penicillin and she is in the garage where it is fairly quiet and dark. She is stiff, can't get up, but she can move her head a bit on her own. I am wondering what her chances are and what I would see if she was improving or what would I see if she was beyond the point of getting better and it would be better for her if I put her down.
She has been taking a bottle several times a day.

If youre SURE its Tetanus, she need tetanus antitoxin NOW

http://www.tennesseemeatgoats.com/ar...2/tetanus.html

CD&T VACCINE is NOT antitoxin.

You need to get it in her ASAP

Yes! From everything I have read, she needs the tetanus antitoxin RIGHT AWAY! Your vet or farm supply store should have it...Let us know what's going on, I'm going to be thinking about her all day!!!!

I would be very suspicious of it being Tetnus - Main symptom of tetnus is the clenched jaw, and she wouldn't be able to take a bottle if it was tetnus.

Okay, I gave her Tetanus antitoxin, how much do you normally give and when do you re dose? I have already given it to her, but I can give more if I need to.

I have to force the nipple into her mouth, but once it is in she is ok, not like a healthy kid nursing, but she is still getting food.

I will keep you all updated on how she is doing.

Picture of her, before she got sick.

This is off the Fias site...Looks like the dose is not repeated

* For treatment of:
o For short-term protection against tetanus and tetanus-like infections.
o Used after a wound or at the time of any surgical procedure i.e. disbudding, castration, tattooing, etc.
* Goat dose & treatment: SQ Injection
o 1/2 ml for newborns
o 1 ml for adults

The dosages given for tetanus anti-toxin are not nearly enough to provide a cure. These doses are for prevention type only. You should check with a vet for an accurate dosage for a possible cure. I've never had one pull out of it once they were stiff. They just suffer to much. If she's already so stiff she can not bend her neck the chances of her pulling out of it even with anti-toxin are very slim. I would give her a minimum of 1-2 full vials of anti-toxin or don't even bother giving it to her. If I remember right in order to cure a cow or horse with the anti-toxin it takes nearly the entire 10 vial package.

Good luck but you would probable should just put her down and end her suffering.

She can still bend her neck, so maybe she has a chance
I gave her one full vial this morning(actually I taught my dad how to give shots ) and he is picking up another vial tonight. How long would it take to show signs of improvements and what would they be? I do agree that if she doesn't improve soon, I should put her down

Yes I called the vet and he told me to give her Penicillin and keep her in a dark and quiet place.

UPDATE Friday evening: Cleo, the doeling, is raising her head and looking around when MissMenagerie goes in to feed her! We're taking this as a good sign! MM has given her two vials of tetanus anti-toxin since yesterday, and 1/3 cc of penicillin per day. Cleo has been drinking about 2 oz. of fresh goat milk 4 times a day.

She (being MM) also performed a necropsy in the driveway on the buckling that died on Weds. (she has her own cooler for dead animals... ). From what she could tell, it looks like pneumonia.

I'm so proud of her!

We put Cleo down Saturday afternoon. She wasn't getting any better and most likely wasn't going to.
