It just figures...(baby pics!)

For days, I have been waiting for my angora doe, Rhubarb, to have her kid.

Yesterday, when I went out to feed the goats, I noticed she was acting oddly. Of course it would be the day that I had to drive almost 2 hours away for a class.

I left my son with instructions to keep an eye on her and call me and my SIL if anything changed. He had classes that day so I knew he wouldn't be able to stay there the whole time. My SIL lives right behind our property. She just had her first babies arrive about 5 days ago. I figured it would be better to have someone there with a little experience than no one at all.

At 11:45, my class had a break for lunch and I called my son. No change. He said he was going to the local farm market for lunch and would check on her when he got back.

12:50 he called to tell me that she had her babies. BabIES???!!! I was really only expecting one since this is her first time.

I called my SIL and her husband told me that she was already on the way to our house. She called me later to tell me mom and babies are all doing fine.

Finally, when I got home at about 7:30 that night, I got to see my new kids!! Two bucks, black as coal.

awwwwww....

OH! Their adorable! our sheep should be having babies pretty soon. I have to wait till next spring to get goat kids though...ah well I've just finished bottle feeding two of my kids and now I am working on weening three more (see, I got all four babies and a 5 year old doe this spring)...whew, lots of work but way worth it!
Adios!

ha-ha-ha I like that "goodle poats" . I want one too and sooo bad! Black is my favorite color for animals and I have been wanting an Angora goat for a while now. I am so tempted to drive down and pick one up.
