Proud mom!

Ok, I have been reading and watching everyone post pictures of their new babies. We just had our first babies of the year here so I wanted to share a picture with you too (3 more moms waiting to go now.)

They are Mini Nubians (oh, I just love them.) One boy and one girl (she had another but it wasn't ready to be born.)

Dora, they are sooo cute! I used to have two nubian does (years ago). We bought 40 acres a couple of years back and have been building a log home on the property for the last year. I told my husband last night that as soon as the house is done I'm buying more goats. However, I need to find a breed that is as affectionate as the Nubians but a little quieter - just can't stand the constant crying. Are the minis noisy?

I love them. No, I don't think they are too loud but they do get upset when you take another one away. I took a short clip a while back for another lady who was thinking about buying some. Here is a link if you want to hear them (I took their buddy away so I got them going some.)

I'll try to upload another picture here of the goats but I am not sure just why it hasn't been showing up for me. Let's try this again.

If, you can't see the picture I did post some on my blog as well

Oh, I went outside and my other Mini lost her PLUG while I was out there. So, it looks like we are going to have her babies here soon too. This is just too cool.. I wish I would have gotten into goats years ago.

Wow, thanks for the video clip. Not NEAR as loud as the ones I had. They bawled as soon as they heard a door open. We lived on ten acres and couldn't sit on the porch and enjoy a quiet evening because they knew we were outside and wanted attention. Loved um, but went back to school to finish my degree and was working full time so something had to give. Just couldn't keep up with milking twice a day. They went back to the breeder I bought them from. So, guess I'll keep looking for some mini Nubians in our area. Thanks again.

If, your not far from Ohio there is a lady there that breeds them (that's where I got mine from.) Prices are good and I am more then happy with what I got from them.

She has I believe 70 goats and they are going to retire here soon. I believe they are working on their sales list and going to be posting it this week.

If, you are anyone else is interested here are their sites (the last time I checked they didn't have their new list up yet but I know she said they were going to do it sometime this week.)

Dora, I sent them an email - they have your buck marked "pending". Which state are you in?

shelleydar,
Yes, that's the boy I want. None of my girls are related to him. I have a buck now but this years babies are all from him so I'll need a buck not related to him for them.
We have a home in Ohio but just moved here to Alabama this year (anyone want to buy a house in Ohio? lol) We have to go back and pick up our horses so I hope to be able to pick up that buck then.
They also have a Doe that I have been eyeing for the last year her name is Mississippi but she wasn't for sale then (now that they are retiring I hope to be able to also buy her.) After that I am done buying goats (or at least that is what I am telling myself.)

Congratulations! It never gets old having those little ones around. Just lots more fun and excitement - yep work, too, but well worth all the effort!
