Question Dont know where else to post about llama cria

bought a little female cria that has a dislocted hip, mom died during birth and baby had to be pulled, during the process her hip was dislocted, my adult female just lost a cria born premature so I thought a cria needing a mom was perfect for a mom needing a cria, they are getting along well, and I am calling the vet as soon as he gets back into town on wednes day, but is there anything I can do for that hip untill he gets back?

for me it seems to be a long wait till wednesday. can't you find another vet?
i think the cria has to stand in order to nurse and it will be very painful for her.

I don't know if this is a solution but some chiropractors work on animals and there is a bill in the MN legislature that would allow it. If you can find one he/she might be able to put the joint back in place if it's out.

Hmm, maybe this forum needs a board for alternative and exotic livestock.

thank you all, found out it was last wednesday that doc came back so baby has an appt tomorrow morning at 10am,,,,also wanted to give an update, even though it must be painful as her leg is very crooked, she is walking and taking a bottle and expeiramenting with some hay, taking a nibble now and then. thank you all for the help and concern, and yes I think an alternitive livestock forum is a great idea.
