Cydectin oral sheep drench

Does anyone here use this instead of the pour-on type? If so, what dosage do you use?

Hey Kim,
I use the pour-on type, but I did some math.
The Cydectin Pour-On contains 5mg/mL of Moxidectin. The Oral Sheep Drench contains 1 mg/mL of Moxidectin. So you would need to use 5 times as much Oral Sheep Drench to equal th Pour-On.
The dose for the Pour-On that I use is 1cc/22 pounds of body weight...
So a 132 pound doe would need 6ccs of Pour-On or 30ccs of the Sheep Drench...

Roseanna is right. It is far more cost effective to use the Cydectin cattle pour-on orally with goats, and I think it does a better job with worms, too.
Goats supposedly do not absorb the pour-ons very well, from what I've read on the subject.
I am sure one of the more experienced folks on this forum will correct that if I am wrong.
I am very pleased with the results of using the cattle pour-on orally. 1 cc to 22 lbs. It smells quite nasty. I put it on bread and put a little molasses on it.

HTH! Jill~
