I looked back at the records for my last FF, Val. We milked twice a day. By 20 days after freshening, she milked out at 1.25 quarts in a.m. and 1.75 in p.m. This peaked at about 2.0 and 2.0 in early June --2 months post-kidding and slowly trailed down from there. Lamancha. Good milking line but not fantabulous. Bottle feeding the babies--she had triplets that year.
Val kidded 2 weeks ago, and we left the twin doelings on her this time. We milk in a.m. only and she and babies are apart at night, only. Only a quart this a.m., her first milking since seperation. Hmmm. We assume the production will climb over time. It better!
