Fly Control

Anyone use fly predators? Have you noticed a difference? What company do you order from? I'm looking at Spalding Fly Predators. Any information would be great!

Yes! I used the Spalding Fly Predators last year and felt it really helped a lot! I will be ordering again this year. One of the reasons it works for us though is because we don't have as many animals as a lot of others around here....for instance, my good friend has 50 horses and 350 head of cattle...not cost effective for her! And the flys were TERRIBLE for them last year. We had 2 horses and 2 dogs and got the minimal amount for around 18.00...I made the mistake of forgetting to order in late august and then we got flies...but may, june, july, and the begining of Aug there was a considerable difference. So I will make sure to order on time every month this coming season. Also, they recomend our start date be end of April and I disagree...I want them beginning of April. This year we have the 3 goats now too so I may go up to the next amount. People who came to visit were amazed at the lack of flies...I also stay on top of the manure...I pick our paddock 2 times a day. I am known as a poop fanatic But I don't care...how can you enjoy your critters if you and them are covered in flies! I recommend the product...

We used them last year and were very happy with them. Our first order for this year is already here.

There were times last year when we had ZERO flies. It was actually weird. But good weird.

We use Spalding, too.

They are little bugs that ship to you while still in their pupa stage. They are in a bag that looks like black rice. When you notice some starting to crawl around in the bag you sprinkle them around your property...concentrating on manure area's in my case. They go after the fly babies and eat them up. http://www.spalding-labs.com/
