I got another new goat....

my neighbor had too much on her plate, so she asked if I wanted her 2nd milker. She is an alpine with a cute little beard, and a month old nubian buckling. I got the pair up here and milked her out because I know that my neighbor didn't milk her in the evenings... the only thing I don't like about her is she has small teats... but theres nothing I can do about that, is there? I have read here that I don't think there is. This is her first year being milked. She had triplet on her last year.... she's short, but a good momma.

Her teats will most likely stretch out the more you milk her, and the more she freshens.

thanks guys... question: charlene was only milking her in the mornings and letting "Black mail" do the rest of the day... One side of her udder is firmer than the other. My mom doesn't remember if that could be normal in some does. I think it is the beginning of something that could be bad if not corrected... any ideas? And thanks for letting me know there is hope for the teats!!!!

Keep her milked out, that should help. Baby probably prefers to nurse off one side only. Massage the udder, too. It helps her to let down the milk. I had one who had a rather firm udder, and found that massaging helped (hand massage).

That Blackmail is a gorgeous li'l boy, and I bet he won't stay little for long. Mama is pretty too. Lucky you!
