Is Goat bred?

I had my female with a buck all summer till early November. She had never been bred before. For a while she looked like she was getting big, then she looked thinner, now she is big on one side. I read in a book about raising goats (book on order from library, waiting for it) that the females carry the babies on one side and the rumen (?) on the other? She doesn't have much of a bag either. Actually, you can hardly see it. My other female was always fat and everyone asked when she was due even before I had a buck on the premises. But she had a small bag and just before she kidded, I noticed it swell up and she acted different in the 48 hours before she gave birth. So it was not a complete surprise. The female that I am wondering about is very nervous acting, although people friendly, she tends to pace alot. She was also very thin when I got her because she was alone and not happy and paced all day in her pen. I took her away from the buck because he was not letting her eat and she seemed to spend all her time trying to get away from him. I have her indoors and out of the cold. When my other goat babies get too close to her pen, she reaches over and tries to bite them!

I have one Lamancha that is tall and always thin. She has kidded twice, and each time, if you had to guess, you would never have guessed that she was even pregnant! Her half sister is always huge, and this throws us off!

This year, Maddie is still thin, but I am darn sure that she will deliver in 2 weeks or so based on how she's looked before. Hang in there--most of the time, it sticks!
