Mites and pregnant doe

We have been fighting a skin condition with one of our does all winter. She has dry flakey skin along her spine and on her sides. It itches and she has been scratching so now she has hair rubbed off along her side. Not huge areas but enough that I know she is very uncomfortable. We have tried a couple of powders, including 7-Dust but she seems to have gotten no relief from that. I bought a Permethrin 10% multi-purpose insecticide that you dilute with water to make a spray. It says it can be applied to animals and will control lice, fleas and mites. My question is whether I can apply it to a pregnant doe. She is due June 1. My second doe is showing signs of itching as well, but I don't know if it is the same condition or just loosing her winter coat. I would like to apply it to her as well. She is due May 17. Any comments would be appreciated. I know some of you were dealing with skin conditions in the recent past. I would do a search for the threads but can not find where to do so since the change.

If I were you this is what I would do...

Give all your goats a good dose of ivermectin 1% cattle and swine injectable orally. (1cc per 75 lb.)

Clean out all bedding in their pens. Sprinkle the floor with Co-Ral dust (you can get this at your farm store).

Scrub the walls down with bleach water.

Brush your does daily with a stiff brush (let the brush soak in some type of cleaner for a few minutes after you have brushed them all that way you don't reinfect them....

Also, add some oil or BOS to their diet. It will help them with their hair oils and will help with dandruff.

does the ivermectin work orally on external parasites? i got a buck last fall and when he came, needed to be treated for mites on his legs. i gave the ivermec as injection which was painful for him.

Yep it works very well orally. I have had a doe who always got a case of mites and it always works...
