How long should castration band stay on?

My little boy was born mid Dec. and banded at the end of January. The breeder said the band should fall off in about a week but it's still on. Everything seems shriveled up and it's coming off above the band only a little. How long should it take?

Mine take much longer than a week - more like 3 or so. Just leave it alone till it falls off on it's own, some just take longer!

Kirby, let me tell ya it takes a while...Like Mygoat said 3 or more weeks, or even longer..Don't worry you'll find it in the bedding one day..
