guestimating when....

Hi all. I've read over and over from many of you that goats gestation is the same length of days every year. One of my does will be kidding for the second time this year.
But do they go more days as a FF than second, third, etc?

Our goats are not following that pattern - of having the same gestation.

We've only had two to compare to last year so far, but here it is:
One kidded at 150 last year and 153 this year.
One kidded at 145 last year and is at 147 now and still keeping her knees together.

I think it may vary depending how many they are carrying, how big the kids are etc.

Most of my FFs went 1-2 days late this year.

Hey I just noticed that it sounds like I bred the doe twice in one year
Really it is her second freshening.

So...you girls really know how to burst my bubble.
It just couldn't be that easy could it! I'll just have to loose sleep, trips to town for groceries, visits with family, with one ear and eye on the barn at all times just like all of you.
The joy of goats!
Thanks for the info. Its not what I was hoping for but appriciated.

Pam
