pregnant doe with cough - help?
my extremely pregnant 7 yr old saanen doe, cae+, is coughing. It's a dry cough, like if she had inhaled some alfalfa dust. Not a frequent cough - I don't usually hear it even once a day - but tonight I heard it a good 3-5 times in a half hour.
We've had extreme cold here for much of the last 6 weeks. Today was mild and even had some sun.
I really have no clue when she is due - got her already bred with another bred doe - the other doe delivered 6 weeks ago. This girl looked like she could pop any minute by mid-january though still no udder.
She is eating like a true pig, active, stiff in the hips but that looks like late-term pregnany ache to me. Clear eyes, normal behavior, normal poops. Have not taken her temp. (well, now that's a good idea, duh)
What should I do? We have an excellant large animal vet I can call - if I need to. Do I need to?
thanks
Cathy
