This is my first goat kid. What do you guys think of his form?

RedTartan

P.S. He can stand up by himself now and walk about 5' before tumbling down...

Are you sure he is two weeks early, he is covered in hair and looks full term to me for a triplet. At any rate he is a cutie. Love those spots. Good job Rhonin.

Oh, yes, I'm sure he's early. I don't keep a buck since I only have two does. I know exactly when she got pregnant. Keep in mind that the dog in the picture is a puppy. I'd be surprised if he weighs 2 lbs. He's have the size of my cat.

That gives a better picture of his size. Looking foreward to seeing pictures of him growing up.

He looks premie to me too- his coat and wrinkles were a dead giveaway. That being said, he is the cutest Nubian kid I have ever seen.

Aw he's cute. Glad he's doing better. I agree with the BoSe too. If you give your vet a call you can probably just go pick up the shot and give it to him.

What will the BoSe do for him and why do you both think he needs it? I'm not suggesting that he doesn't need it, I just think it will profit me to know what you're seeing and thinking.

Thanks for enlightening me,

RedTartan

ETA: His sire's owner and the local goat expert (30 years experience) are coming by this morning to look and Starbux and Mocha just to make sure everything is okay. I'll let you all know what they say.

Bose should be given to all newborn goats anyway. It prevents white muscle disease. Bose should be given to pregnant goats a few weeks before they kid as well. Selenium is essential for many life functions and most feeds and consequently most goats are deficient in this mineral.

Let us know what the guy says.

Thanks, Jill~

They said mother and baby are doing excellent and to keep doing what I'm doing. They also showed me how to do injections. My goats didn't even flinch!

So far, so good...
